Biography
Prof. Wolfgang Losert is an MPower Professor of Physics in the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland. His research focuses on the dynamics of living systems at the convergence of physics, biology, and AI. He led an AFOSR MURI Research Team that discovered the coupled excitable systems character of cells and tissues and developed a new paradigm for precise control of living systems with physical signals. His current focus is on understanding and controlling active living neural networks. Dr. Losert is a fellow of the AAAS and the American Physical Society.
