Biography

Abby has been leading the CMNS communications team since 2014. In this role, she is responsible for media relations, internal and alumni communications, video production, social media, publications, event and marketing materials, and more.

Prior to this position, she was a science writer/communications officer at the Georgia Institute of Technology (2006-13) and a freelance medical writer at the George Washington University Medical Center (2006-07). She is a senior member of IEEE and served as a volunteer leader in the organization from 2006 to 2016, including as IEEE-USA Communications Committee chair and member and IEEE Public Visibility Committee member.

For her M.S. and Ph.D. research, Abby conducted optical imaging research at the National Institutes of Health.
