Biography
Izabelle “Izzy” Mendez's background includes public health research, teaching, mentorship and student support, with experience in health equity, nutrition and community-based initiatives. Izzy has worked as a health equity research analyst at the Association of American Medical Colleges and as a research fellow at NIH/NIMHD, where she supported population health research, data analysis, literature reviews and scientific reporting. At UMD, she also served as a graduate research and teaching assistant and supported food security efforts through the Campus Pantry.
