66 Professional-Track Faculty Members Promoted in UMD College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences

The University of Maryland College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences (CMNS) announced the promotions of 66 professional-track faculty members.

INSTRUCTIONAL FACULTY

Those promoted to Principal Lecturer by the campus:

    • Reid Compton, biology, joined CMNS in 1997. He has taught biological sciences courses including biology, genetics and mammalian histology. In addition, Compton is assistant chair and director of undergraduate studies in the Department of Biology and directs the College Park Scholars Life Sciences program.
    • Michael Montague-Smith, chemistry and biochemistry, joined CMNS in 2004. In addition to teaching organic chemistry, Montague-Smith serves as the director of undergraduate studies in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
    • Justin Wyss-Gallifent, mathematics, joined CMNS in 1994. He has taught a wide variety of mathematics courses, most recently Calculus III, introduction to analysis, applications of linear algebra and introduction to MATLAB.
