Mike Scott joined the University of Maryland's College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences as the Chief Development Officer and Assistant Dean for Development in November 2025. 

He was most recently the Assistant Dean of Advancement and Chief Development Officer for the College of Arts and Sciences at American University. Before that, he served in the same capacity at American University’s Kogod School of Business. He also spent a decade working for Ohio’s Miami University from Washington, D.C., as a development officer for the East Coast.
