College's Graduate Programs Highly Ranked by U.S. News & World Report

The University of Maryland was once again highly ranked by U.S. News & World Report's 2019 Best Graduate Schools—with 39 programs and specialties ranked in the top 25.

The College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences had 12 programs and specialties ranked in the top 25.  

The college's rankings included:

      • The elementary particles/field/string theory specialty ranked 13th
    • Computer science ranked 16th

      • The artificial intelligence specialty ranked 16th
      • The theory specialty ranked 16th
      • The programming language specialty ranked 17th
    • Mathematics ranked 22nd
      • The applied math specialty ranked 13th
    • Earth sciences ranked 28th
    • Chemistry ranked 41st
    • Biological sciences ranked 62nd
